Ontario – Lithium
Slim Jim Project
The Slim Jim project is located within the Quetico Subprovince in northwestern Ontario. The Quetico Subprovince is dominated by metasedimentary rocks intruded by granites and is home to such lithium deposits as Georgia Lake (14Mt @0.9%Li2O) owned by Rock Tech and Jackpot (2Mt @1.09%Li2O) owned by Imagine Lithium as well as other lithium occurrences such as Wisa Lake (GreenTech) and Hearst (Brunswick).
Slim Jim covers 4,746ha of contiguous ground around the margins of a mapped muscovite-bearing pegmatitic granite unit intruding into the local metasediments. The project area contains an abundance of lake sediment samples that are anomalous for lithium, cesium, tantalum and rubidium, considered to be the key indicator elements in LCT-pegmatite exploration. In addition to favourable geology and geochemistry, there are several faults running through the property that could be ideal pathways for pegmatite emplacement.
The majority of the property has never been mapped in detail. Slim Jim is road-accessible, and close to essential infrastructure such as a provincial highway, powerline, local mining communities and rail line.
