Targa’s Projects
Targa’s extensive portfolio of gold and critical metal projects cover more than 400,000ha of ground spread across the Canadian provinces of Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. The majority of this ground has never previously been explored for gold or lithium.
Opinaca, Targa’s flagship asset, is 85,267ha in size and located in northern Quebec, 40km south of the Corvette lithium deposit, the largest lithium pegmatite resource in Canada. Field work at Opinaca in 2023 identified multiple gold and lithium anomalies in till samples including a 5km x 4km anomaly with elevated values of gold, arsenic, antimony, and tungsten, which are key elements in the exploration of orogenic gold deposits.
The lithium potential on Targa’s other assets is indicated by the presence of peraluminous pegmatites and granites that have been found on several of the Company’s projects, historic lithium occurrences on both assets in Manitoba, and proximity to other confirmed lithium pegmatite boulders and outcrop occurrences.
Targa’s exploration strategy is to acquire early-stage projects with favorable looking geology and confirmed geological and geochemical indicators covering large, underexplored areas. The Company rapidly assess its assets to narrow down which projects and which areas of each project have the most potential to host lithium and gold mineralization to focus future exploration efforts in the areas with the best opportunity for discovery.
