Quebec – Lithium & Gold
Other Quebec Projects
In 2023, Targa acquired three large projects in Quebec from veteran mineral prospector Shawn Ryan. The Ungava (63,856ha) Leaf River (25,636 ha), and Musquaro (75,415 ha) projects cover vast areas of underexplored terrain. Each project is centered over concentrations of lake sediment samples with highly anomalous lithium, cesium, and rubidium values, many of which are in the 99th percentile for these elements in the Quebec Lake sediment database. All projects also have previously identified occurrences of pegmatites within the project boundaries.
Early-stage prospecting programs on all three projects in 2023 consisted of wide-spaced traverse lines to search for and sample local granites and pegmatites to assess the potential for these areas to host LCT pegmatites. Those programs did not produce significant lithium/cesium/rubidium values from the samples that were taken. However do to the wide spacing of the traverse lines and the limited amount of time spent at each project relative to their significant size, the potential for LCT pegmatites on these three projects remains inconclusive. Targa’s technical team and advisors are considering next steps for these projects; however they will not be a priority for work in 2024.
